Tricia Moses Dies of Covid-19
Moses devoted her life to teaching, and now after her death, she’s still offering valuable lessons.
Moses’s extraordinary career as an award-winning Brooklyn public school teacher and her journey through a crippling illness and a successful double lung transplant was a testament to both her iron will and the powers of modern medicine.
Neither could protect her from COVID-19, which claimed her life last month at age 46 — although she was fully vaccinated and diligently wore a mask.
The Department of Education released a statement saying: “Moses is a hero and an educator who constantly went above and beyond for her students. Our thoughts are with her loved ones during this difficult time and the collective NYC DOE family joins them in mourning this deep loss.”
