The tragic news of his death was confirmed by his wife, Sonia Schultz Greenbaum, who issued a statement saying, “The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery.”
Segal is survived by his wife Sonia, his teenage sweetheart from school whom he married in 1998, after two previous marriages. They had been happily married for 23 years till Segal died on Tuesday.
