Sean Charles Greer Wiki – Sean Charles Greer Biography
Florida police arrested Sean Charles Greer on Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run where two children died and four others were hospitalized.
Broward Sheriff’s detectives confirmed they arrested Greer on Tuesday, according to a 7News report. Investigators have said Greer confessed to his involvement in the crash on Northwest 24th Street and Ninth Avenue, Broward County.
He is 27 years old.
It all happened Monday afternoon just before 3 p.m. near the 2400 block NW 9 Avenue.
“Our units transported four children this afternoon to Broward Health in various stages of injuries, and two were pronounced deceased here on the scene,” said Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Stephen Gollan.
Roads were closed, and investigators were on the scene until around 9:30 p.m.
“This is a heartbreaking evening for everyone – for family, friends, and our first responders,” said Miranda Grossman, a PIO with the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses described a horrible scene that unfolded when a driver attempted to speed around a county bus, hitting the children on the sidewalk.
“I don’t know if he couldn’t control the car, but he drove straight into those kids,” recounted Broward Transit driver Selvin Arjun.
He had stopped the bus and dropped off two people.
Rhome Orismo was stepping on the bus when he saw it all happen.
“I stood right up as soon as I witnessed the crash, witnessed the impact,” he said. “It’s still eating away at me now that someone would do something like that and not stop, not try to render aid to those children.”
The deceased victims were identified as 6-year-old Andrea Fleming and 5-year-old Paris Kylie Jones. The surviving victims were 10-year old Jonathan Carter, 2-year-old Audre Fleming, 9-year-old Draya Fleming, and 9-year-old Laziyah Stokes.
Detectives have said Greer sped around a Broward Transit bus and seemed to lose control and overcorrected the children onto a driveway were walking with an adult relative.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the car involved was a 2009 Honda Accord Sedan driven by a male subject. After the crash occurred, the vehicle accelerated and fled the area.
Police retrieved physical evidence at the crime scene and released a description of the car involved. When Greer’s vehicle was located, it had damage consistent with being involved in the crash, according to the police.
In the aftermath of the incident, neighbours rushed over to help the victims. A resident, Harriet Lewis, said a girl ended up pinned underneath a parked car.
