Lucas Baxter was a University of North Georgia student last seen Friday, Oct. 22, at the school’s Dahlonega campus.
His car was found near the Woody Gap area. The university said Baxter’s family “is concerned for him,” and the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office has asked for information to find him.

Body Found
The body of a missing college student has been recovered.
The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Department said in a social media post dated Oct. 30 that 18-year-old Lucas Baxter’s body had been recovered. Sheriff Stacy Jarrard said that no foul play was suspected, but the investigation was ongoing.

Baxter is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs roughly 145 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair.
The sheriff’s office said Baxter might be wearing round glasses. When Baxter went missing, he wore a tie-dye shirt with a woven pouch necklace, a grey-striped hoodie, and a black backpack.
