The body of a woman, also known as Lena Zhang Harrap, was found in a bush on Wednesday afternoon in the Auckland suburb of Mt Albert.
The 27-year-old, who has Down Syndrome, was reported missing just hours earlier after leaving her home.
Lena left her home around 6.30 am to go for her regular walk to Ōwairaka Domain but never returned.
Detectives on the case have already spoken to several people who saw Lena during her walk.
Police continue to access the scene and are making CCTV inquiries.
In particular, investigators are looking to speak to a “person of interest.”
The man, seen wearing a blue jumper, was captured on CCTV near the area where Lena’s body was found on Wednesday morning.

Police said he is described as dark-skinned, with balding hair, a distinctive mark on his forehead, and wearing a mask.
Suspect Arrested
A man has been charged with the sexual violation and murder of Lena Zhang Harrap, who died in central Auckland on Wednesday.
The Mt Albert community was in shock after police began a homicide investigation into the death of the 27-year-old.
Zhang’s body was discovered about 4.30 pm in a bush off a walkway on Ōwairaka/Mt Albert, where she would often walk.
A 31-year-old man has now been arrested and is expected to appear in court on Friday.
Police said they found the man in a vehicle in Papatoetoe, South Auckland, at around 1.

Following the arrest, police appeal to anyone who may have seen a white Hyundai station wagon, registration EGZ962, anytime from Wednesday.
Police said they are not currently seeking anyone else about the incident, but their inquiries remain ongoing.
Police Report
Detective Inspector Aaron Pascoe said Lena’s family is understandably devastated by her death.
“Lena was a young lady, she was small in stature, she was vulnerable,” he said, NZ Herald reports.
Pascoe added Lena was a “loving and caring person” who was raised to be independent.
“Whoever the offender or offenders are, they’ve targeted a vulnerable member of our community which is just appalling,” Pascoe said.

While the murder will be “distressing” to the public, Pascoe said police have a large team working hard to identify anyone involved in Lena’s death.
