A mum who went to Turkey for a gastric bypass died a week after surgery, a coroner has heard.

Khelisyah Ashamu is said to have organized the procedure using a company run by two Brits called Get Slim.
She had the op on February 2 last year after giving birth to her son by cesarean.
But her condition deteriorated in the days that followed and she died on February 9.
Khelisyah’s parents said in a statement they were “devastated” by the loss of the “wonderful mum and daughter”.
They added: “She had so much to look forward to. Now her son will never know his mother and she will not see him grow up.
“If we can understand what happened, hopefully, our daughter will rest in peace and her son will one day understand how his mum came to be taken from him.”
At a pre-inquest hearing in Walthamstow, East London, their lawyer, Miss Hunt, said the family feared Get Slim in Turkey’s website did not make clear the dangers.

“Having a young child she might not have run a risk if she was aware of it”, she said.
The family wants to know if Khelisyah, from Romford, had the procedure she asked for and if the surgeon is liable for her death. Miss Hunt said: “Miss Ashamu booked for a bypass but the postmortem report suggested sleeve surgery was performed.”
Coroner Ian Wade said the surgery should have been “straightforward”.
He added “the only witness we want to hear from is the doctor” but he did not “hold any particular hope” he would testify.
Khelisyah’s dad was allegedly told she died from a “pulmonary embolism”, but the postmortem gave another cause of death.
A date for the inquest has not been set.
