Kassidy Lauziere Cuevas and a man in Massachusetts have been arrested for kidnapping a four-day-old baby girl Saturday morning in Worcester.
Police said they were arrested on Saturday at a Worcester fast food restaurant in connection with the kidnapping of a 4-day-old girl earlier in the day.
She is 19 years old.
The mother and baby rode in Lauziere-Cuevas’ car.
When they stopped at a gas station on Southbridge Street, the mother entered the store, and police said Lauziere-Cuevas drove away. The mother exited and flagged down aHoly Cross Police officer, who called Worcester Police.
During the search, police alerted the public to be on the lookout for the newborn and Lauziere-Cuevas. Anyone with information was asked to call 911.
Officers received information that Lauziere-Cuevas might be travelling with Daquan Jefferson, 23, of Worcester.
At about 12:05 p.m., officers received a report that a man had left the baby with another person at a Subway restaurant located at 490 Lincoln St. Worcester police said that person called police, who reunited the child with the mother.

Officers said the child appeared to be safe and unharmed.
Later, police received information that Lauziere-Cuevas and Jefferson were at a Wendy’s on Lincoln St. Officers found them there and arrested them on kidnapping and reckless endangerment of a child.
“WPD has located the baby safe. We would like to thank the public for their help with this investigation. We appreciate everyone’s effort to assist us,” police wrote in a Tweet. “During these incidents when time is crucial, assistance from the public can be a huge factor in ensuring a safe outcome.”

Police found Lauziere-Cuevas’s car about a half-hour later in nearby Shrewsbury, but there were no signs of her or the infant, Worcester Police said.
Lauziere-Cuevas and Jefferson have been charged with kidnapping and reckless endangerment of a child.
