Joyce Echaquan Wiki – Joyce Echaquan Biography
Joyce Echaquan filmed a Facebook Live video of hospital staff in Quebec, Canada, taunting her, an incident that has sparked protests, prompted an investigation, and led to a nurse’s firing.
Echaquan, a mother of seven, recorded the video Monday after she had been taken to an emergency clinic in Joliette two days earlier for stomach torments.
Age
She was 37 years old.
Joyce Echaquan Died
She passed away at Center Hospitalier Régional de Lanaudière the exact day she took the video. Echaquan’s family said Joyce had a heart issue.
In the recording, which was seen by NBC News, Echaquan is seen lying in an emergency clinic bed. She seems, by all accounts, to be breathing intensely and is shouting and groaning.
Medical attendants can be heard in French calling Echaquan “moronic as hellfire” and recommending she was just useful for sex.
The video started shock in Canada and fights outside the emergency clinic, with some in the group on Tuesday reciting, “Equity for Joyce.”
François Legault Press Briefing
“To start with, I need to give my sympathies to the family. Second, what happened is absolutely inadmissible,” Quebec’s head, François Legault, said during a press briefing Tuesday.
Legault said a team on bigotry would give proposals in the coming weeks. “We will make a move to battle against bigotry,” he told columnists.
“The absence of human sympathy and pride appeared to this mother, little girl, companion, must not go on without serious consequences in our general public,” Canadian Senator Leo Housakos tweeted Wednesday.
Investigation
“The investigation is in progress, and an attendant has been terminated,” the announcement said.
Echaquan’s demise comes in the midst of continuous worries over the treatment of Indigenous individuals in Canada, who make up around 5 percent of the nation’s populace of almost 37 million.
