Jereme Lamond Jones is an Alabama man who is accused of fatally shooting a man on the gaming floor of a Mississippi casino early Saturday, authorities said.

Jones was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder, WLOX reported. The television station reported that he is accused of shooting Randy Johnson, 41, of Gulfport, at the Golden Nugget Casino in Biloxi.


He is 30 years old.

Incident Details

Jones was armed with a pistol when he was arrested near the Biloxi Bay Bridge, according to WLOX.

The shooting happened Saturday around 12:30 a.m. CDT, according to a statement from the Biloxi Police Department. Investigators believe the two men got into a fight outside the casino. According to the police statement, Jones followed Johnson into the casino and fired multiple close-range shots on the gaming floor.

No one else was injured, AL.com reported.

CNN reported that it is unclear whether Jones and Johnson knew each other or what caused the original altercation.


Johnson was a father of two daughters and a son, according to WLOX. He was also a barber at King’s Barbershop in Gulfport.

Jones was booked into the Harrison County Jail with bail set at $1 million, AL.com reported.

The initial investigation indicated Jones and the Victim were involved in a physical altercation outside the casino. The Victim ran into the casino, followed by Jones, where Jones allegedly fired multiple close-range shots at the Victim on the gaming floor.

No other citizens were injured during the altercation, and it is currently unknown if Jones and the victim knew each other or what led up to the physical altercation. Jones was ultimately charged with 1st Degree Murder and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center with a $1,000,000 bond imposed by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.”
