Voight was reported missing by family in July 2016. She had just recently moved Colorado to live with Beier after graduating from California State Polytechnic University.
She went missing in July 2016. her boyfriend Jeffrey Scott Beier is in custody in Russia and is suspected of killing Charlene Voight, who was reported missing by her family on July 8, 2016. Her body was never found.
Crime History
Beier has an alleged history of violence against women. The indictment states that Beier “assaulted and strangled Voight, threatened to kill her, broke her phones, and followed her to locations where she was trying to hide from him” multiple times between 2011 and 2016. A restraining order against Beier on Voight’s behalf was granted in 2012. He pleaded guilty to threatening to kill his ex-wife in 2007, according to the Denver Channel.
Arrest
He is currently in custody in Russia, and it’s unclear when he will be returned to Colorado to face the charges. While investigators were searching a landfill for Voight’s body in November 2016, Beier moved to Moscow where he met a woman that same month, according to the Denver Channel. They wed the following year — and his new wife allegedly contacted Littleton police to report that he had been beating her, according to Beier’s indictment.
