Gisele Barreto Fetterman wedded to Democratic Governor John Fetterman, said the episode occurred on Sunday while she was looking for kiwis at an Aldi store close to her home in Braddock, The Washington Post announced.
“I ran to the local grocery store and got hit and abused by this woman who told me over and over that I don’t belong here,” she wrote on Twitter.
Barreto Fetterman, who was born in Brazil and received her green card in 2004, said the unidentified woman realized she was married to the officer and started pointing and yelling at her.
“She said,” There is the N-word Fetterman married. You don’t belong here. Nobody wants you here. You don’t belong here, ”Fetterman told the Washington Post.
Shaken by the verbal attack, Barreto Fetterman left the store, but the woman again confronted her in the parking lot.

From her car, she was able to take a short clip of the woman pulling down her mask and saying, “You are human.”
“This behavior and hatred are taught,” Fetterman posted on Twitter alongside the clip. “If you know her, if she’s your neighbor or relative, teach her love instead.”
Fetterman said the experience felt feelings when his family lived as undocumented immigrants for more than a decade after fleeing Rio de Janeiro for New York.
“It’s been a very long time living in the shadows and being afraid of every knock on the door,” she says.
