Gina Marie Krasley, who appeared on season eight of the TLC show “My 600-lb Life,” died on August 1.
Krasley loved to dance, and it was one of the things her family highlighted about her life.
“Her greatest passion was dancing and she would make up dances with her sister and kids in the neighborhood growing up,” the obituary said. “She started the ‘dancing has no size limit’ Tiktok trend and she dreamed of one day opening up a dance studio for special needs children.”

According to her obituary, Krasley, known for a 2020 episode of the TLC reality show “My 600-lb Life,” died on Sunday at home in Tuckerton, N.J., surrounded by family.

In Krasley’s honor, her family encourages donations to mental health charities and asks funeral attendees to wear purple and pink, Krasley’s favorite colors. Krasley is survived by her wife Beth, mother Cathy Devereux, and sister Ali Samuels.

Krasley was 28 years old when she appeared on “My 600-lb. Life” in 2020.
“I was up every day to the same miserable experience because my weight has me trapped in this chair all day, every day, and I hate it,” she said at the beginning of her episode. “All I can do now is eat and sleep, except on the days where I’m forced to take a bath, which I really hate doing.”
After appearing on the show, Krasley remained in the public eye via social media. As noted in her obituary, dance was a lifelong passion of hers. One of her goals in life was to open a dance studio for special needs children. In the meantime, she utilized TikTok to share her dancing and choreography with others.
She began a trend on TikTok by promoting the idea that “dancing has no size limit,” which invited other plus-size people to find confidence in dancing in front of others. Many women shared Krasley’s videos, along with videos of themselves dancing. She appeared in Matt Mulhern’s 1998 film “Walking to the Waterline” and preferred to spend her free time in the company of her family.
