Charges
Meanwhile, Hamilton police said they continue to investigate the events at J.C. Beemer park on Wednesday, Nov. 24.
“As a result, a 27-year-old female from Hamilton has been arrested and is facing the charges of assault police and obstruct police,” Const. Krista-Lee Ernst wrote in an email to CBC News.
“The investigation remains on-going and further arrests are anticipated.”
Dozens of officers were at J.C. Beemer Park throughout the day Wednesday as bylaw officers moved to evict those staying there.
Protesters with the HESN who tried to stop the evictions clashed with police, and two people were arrested — a 33-year-old man charged with obstructing police and a 27-year-old woman charged with assaulting a police officer.
