Destiny Isabella Mercado Wiki – Destiny Isabella Mercado Biography
Destiny Isabella Mercado is a San Fernando, California native. The police are looking for Mercado, who disappeared after texting her mother for permission to go to a convenience store.
Mercado sent the text shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday, KTLA reported.
Age
She is 14 years old.
Missing
Police said the girl’s phone was found at about 1:40 p.m. by someone who said it was thrown from a vehicle. Officials released a surveillance image of the car, described as a light grey or silver Mazda.
San Fernando police said they aren’t sure whether the girl is a runaway or her disappearance constitutes “suspicious circumstances.” Still, a man who said he was the girl’s uncle told KTLA the family does not believe she ran away.
According to MyNewsLA, Mercado was recently barred from seeing her boyfriend, who lives in Palmdale, about 40 miles away, so detectives are looking in that area.

Family Statement
Mercado’s family told KTLA on Sunday that the teen has never run away from home before and believe it would be out of character for her to do.
“A lot of thoughts crossed through my mind, including kidnapping for sex trafficking,” Mercado’s mother, Angelica Pelayo-Hicklin, said as she fought through tears. “I hope that’s not the case.”
Carlos Villanueva, Mercado’s father, said he believed his daughter was in danger. Unable to comment after breaking down in tears, his wife Corina Villanueva chimed in and said: “We believe she’s in danger because we know Destiny… I’m the stepmom, but I take care of Destiny with all of our kids together and this is so heartbreaking.”
Found Safe
Police said a 14-year-old girl who disappeared, presumably while on her way to a nearby convenience store, was found safe.
Destiny Isabella Mercado was found in San Gabriel Sunday night and that she was cooperating with investigators. No foul play is suspected, San Gabriel police Lt. Irwin Rosenberg said.
