She was 53 years old.
In June last year, Hunter was involved in the incident at a Jacksonville Pier 1 Imports store, where she coughed on fellow buyer Heather Sprague, who was listening to the video of Jaeger’s argument with store employees.
Sprague later identified herself as a brain cancer patient and said she was on a rare public outing during the COVID-19 pandemic because her treatments left her immunosuppressed.

Hunter had already submitted his request last month after Judge James Ruth informed her that he was ready to move jury selection forward to trial.
Hunter had agreed to plead guilty in two previous hearings, but since neither of those pleas included the option of jail, the judge turned it down, News4Jax reported.
According to a three-page letter from the mother of three to the judge in which Hunter attempted to explain their actions, the incident sparked a backlash that turned Hunter into an outcast.
On Thursday, a judge in Jacksonville also ordered Debra Hunter to pay a $500 fine, serve six months probation, and participate in a mental health evaluation along with anger management,
David Chapman, communications director for the state attorney’s office in Jacksonville, said in an email. She was also ordered to cover the costs of the victim’s Covid-19 test.
She was also sentenced to 29 days in jail.
