Brendan Santo is a Grand Valley State University student who went missing after visiting the Michigan State University campus last Friday night.
Santo went missing after leaving Yakeley Hall on MSU’s campus just before midnight Friday after visiting friends in the dorm. Michigan State University Police say, Santo, from Rochester Hills, Mich., walked toward the Brody complex. Police say his vehicle has been located still on campus.

Authorities searched Monday for a college student who disappeared while visiting friends at Michigan State University over the weekend.
“Please pray even if you usually don’t pray,” said Michael Alter, whose son played hockey with Brendan Santo in suburban Detroit.
Santo, an 18-year-old student at Grand Valley State University, was last seen leaving Yakeley Hall shortly before midnight Friday, campus police said.

Police blocked off part of a parking lot near the Red Cedar River. Diving equipment could be seen.
Police Report
On Monday, local police focused their search on several sections of the Red Cedar River, which cuts through campus and sits just south of Yakeley Hall.
Dive teams were seen in the water throughout the day Monday into the evening, according to media partner Six News WLNS in Lansing, but no further updates have been made available.
“Our operation has included searches conducted on foot, by helicopter, by drone and boat,” police said.
Santo’s car was located earlier. Friends from the Rochester area in suburban Detroit organized a carpool to travel to MSU and join the search.
“He was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a black T-shirt, a black baseball hat, and white Converse high-top shoes,” police said.
