Beverly Tate, the mother of Snoop Dogg, has died, according to her son.
The rapper broke the news Sunday, posting a tribute to her on Instagram and writing … “Thank u, God, for giving me an angel for a mother TWMA.” There’s another post where he thanks his mom for having him. A cause of death wasn’t revealed.
SD’s father, Vernell, also confirmed the news … and he too asked for prayers, noting the family needed it now more than ever.
Beverly had two other sons by Vernell and raised the family in Long Beach, CA. She brought Snoop up in a church environment — something he still alludes to this day.

Her age is unclear.
Beverly Tate Dies
Ms. Tate had been hospitalized earlier this year for undisclosed reasons — Snoop had asked his fans to send good vibes while his mother was in the hospital. He later updated folks by letting them know she was “still fighting” and had opened her eyes, but she didn’t mention anything specific.
They were close. Snoop attributes a lot of his good qualities to how she raised him — even recently disclosing that she was the one who encouraged him to apologize to Gayle King over his comments in response to her Kobe Bryant remark last year.

Although her cause of death has not been disclosed, Snoop’s touching tribute and frequent updates about his beloved mother prompted millions of likes and an outpouring of support from friends and followers, including Taraji P. Henson and Busta Rhymes.
Snoop Dogg Statement
Snoop was the first to announce his mother’s passing on Instagram, sharing, “Thank u, God, for giving me an angel for a mother TWMA (til we meet again).” He added a photo of Tate dressed in a red dress and matching hat while holding flowers.
In a post from two hours earlier, Snoop shared a photo posing with his mom, both of them smiling into the camera. This one, he captioned, “Mama, thank u for having me.” The rapper’s father, Vernell, also confirmed Tate’s passing is asking for prayers and saying that the family “needed it now more than ever.”
Snoop and his mother were close, and he frequently commented on the positive traits that he inherited from her.
