Barbara Lesslie was the wife of a prominent doctor Robert Lesslie and two grandchildren, were killed in a shooting Wednesday afternoon at a house near Rock Hill in South Carolina city.
The gunman who killed five people, including a prominent doctor in York County, was former NFL pro-Phillip Adams, who died by suicide early Thursday, officials told Channel 9.

South Carolina Shooting
The shooting happened at the Lesslie’s home, deputies said.
Authorities in York County identified the shooting victims as Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70; Barbara Lesslie, 69; James Lewis, 38; Adah Lesslie, 9; and Noah Lesslie, 5. One other person suffered “serious gunshot wounds” in the attack, WSOC-TV reported.
Officials said they found the suspected gunman at a nearby home early Thursday. The AP reported Adams killed himself following the shooting.
The York County Sheriff’s Office plans to share more information on Wednesday’s deadly shooting in Rock Hill at a news conference scheduled to happen Thursday afternoon.
Citing an unidentified source, the AP reported that former NFL player Phillip Adams killed five people, including a prominent doctor and two children, before killing himself early Thursday.
According to the AP, Adams’ parents live near the home of Dr. Robert Lesslie, one of the five people shot and killed Wednesday evening in Rock Hill, and the doctor had previously treated the 32-year-old.
Phillip Adams Career
Adams, 33, played in 78 NFL games over five seasons for six teams. A safety and special teams player from South Carolina State, he joined the 49ers in 2010 as a seventh-round draft pick.
Rarely a starter, Adams also was with New England, Seattle, Atlanta, Oakland, and the New York Jets, finishing his career with the Falcons in 2015.

Police Report
York County Sheriff’s Office’s spokesperson Trent Faris said a sixth person was hospitalized with “serious gunshot wounds.”
In a news release, the York County Coroner’s Office said it responded to the home “to investigate multiple deaths at the residence.”
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the area and could see two medical helicopters and an ambulance responding to the scene before deputies asked our helicopter to stand down. A SWAT team vehicle was also spotted.
The sheriff’s office spent hours searching for the suspect before finding him. It’s unclear exactly when the suspect was found, but authorities held a news briefing after midnight.
Shortly after the shooting, the York County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that detectives were searching for a man wearing a black hoodie and camo pants last seen in the area. Officials said he was possibly armed and dangerous, and residents needed to lock their doors and stay inside.
