A ground search is underway in North Preston, N.S., for a boy from the community who is missing and was last seen Tuesday.
He’s described as Black, four feet tall, 75 pounds, with dark hair and eyes.

At 9:49 a.m., Halifax District RCMP issued an emergency alert.
The Nova Scotia RCMP said that alerts were issued for the Halifax Regional Municipality and Hants areas because of the boy’s age and the weather conditions.
A nor’easter is sweeping south of Nova Scotia, prompting rainfall warnings for the Halifax area.
The RCMP added that information about the missing boy was sent to media outlets and that Amber Alerts are issued when a child has been abducted.

“There is no evidence to suggest Ashayo has been abducted,” it said.
RCMP said a ground search and rescue effort is underway, and a command post is set up at the North Preston Community Centre. A helicopter could be seen taking off from the area on Wednesday afternoon.
The RCMP said that at this time, they do not require volunteers to help with the search.
“When someone goes missing, it has deep and far-reaching impacts for the person and those that know them,” the RCMP said in a news release early Wednesday.
“We ask that people spread the word through social media respectfully.”
