Authorities are investigating a Southern California movie theater shooting that killed an 18-year-old woman and left her friend on life support.
Police say Rylee Goodrich was killed, and 19-year-old Anthony Barajas was wounded Monday night as they watched a showing of “The Forever Purge” at a Corona theater.
Kouroubacalis said police did not know what the call was for until officers arrived on the scene and found the two teens suffering from gunshot wounds, though authorities said no weapon was found at the location.

The man, identified as Anthony Barajas, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman, identified as Rylee Goodrich, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Barajas is on life support at a hospital. Investigators say the two had gone to watch the movie together. However, they haven’t released a possible motive for the shooting, and detectives are still trying to identify a potential shooter or shooters.
Police Report
Authorities said the two attended the movie together. However, it was not immediately clear who else was in the theatre with them, though records show a total of six tickets were purchased for that showing.
“We don’t have any suspect information right now,” Kouroubacalis said. “We have no information to lead us to believe there is an active threat to our community or any surrounding community right now.”
