He had sustained a dry start to the 2021 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, where he was excused for 2 and 0 runs separately in India’s first 2 matches, against the UAE and Pakistan. Things didn’t progress much in the next 2 matches either as he oversaw 35 runs against Afghanistan in India’s final leg match and 16 runs against Bangladesh in the semi-final match.
In the final game of the competition, a game that was crippled by a downpour against Sri Lanka, chasing a pathetic goal of 102 runs, he had taken the top score on 56 runs and not on 67 balls as India went within 22 overs. sauntered home with 9 wickets too many .
In the second collecting leg match of the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, against Ireland, he had amassed a first score of 164 runs in 25.4 overs with Harnoor Singh and was India’s second highest run scorer with 79 runs from 79 balls . His organization of 206 runs with Raj Bawa, who had scored 162 runs not out, was the most remarkable third wicket score in the entire existence of the competition. India scored 405/5 of every 50 overs in that match and had crushed Uganda by 326 runs.
This was the second biggest win advantage in Youth ODI’s entire existence. In the quarter-final match against Bangladesh, he was India’s top scorer (44 runs off 65 balls, including 7 fours) in a brutal 112-run chase.
India had lost 5 wickets chasing that low complete down and Angkrish’s thump had proved essential to ensure the lower request hitters didn’t have to be associated with this precarious chase.
His structure had let him down in the last 2 games of the competition as he was excused for 6 runs against Australia in the semi-final and a 2-ball duck in the last against England.
