Andreas Deon Horton is suspected of killing two people and wounding two others at the Mueller Co. fire hydrant factory in Albertville, Alabama has been found dead from an apparent suicide.
According to Albertville Police Chief Jamie Smith, the alleged gunman was discovered dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head inside an SUV matching the description of the shooting suspect’s vehicle near Carlisle Street in Guntersville just before 6 a.m.

Alabama Fire Hydrant Shooting
Police said the suspect, 34-year-old Andreas Deon Horton of DeKalb County, Alabama, opened fire on co-workers in a part of the plant where hydrants and pipes are painted at around 2:30 a.m.
The two employees killed in the shooting have been identified as Michael Lee Dobbins and David Lee Horton, both of Boaz.
The two injured victims were taken to Marshall Medical Center South for treatment before being transported to a hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The plant, which the chief said will be closed for the next couple of days as authorities continue their investigation, employs more than 400 people and is behind the town’s “Fire Hydrant Capital of the World” nickname.

Police Chief Jamie Smit Said,
“It is with a heavy heart that I report to you a shooting that occurred early this morning. The incident happened around 2:30 am this morning at Mueller located at 956 Industrial Blvd. in Albertville. For an unknown reason, an employee of the industry began firing a weapon at fellow employees. During the shooting, 2 employees were fatally wounded and 2 more were injured. The gunman then left the scene in a vehicle. The 2 injured persons were transported to Marshall Medical Center South for treatment.
At this time Detectives are processing the scene and information is being gathered about the identity of the shooter and his possible whereabouts. Surrounding agencies responded to the scene and everything humanly possible is being done at this time to locate the person responsible. No names are being released at this time pending notification of the family of those involved.
