Aaron D. Williams had been charged with domestic violence once before, but on Friday night Columbus police say another dispute turned deadly as Williams fatally shot his two young daughters along with himself at their Far West Side apartment.

Two young sisters were shot and killed by their father, who died by suicide, according to Columbus police.
Officers were called to a domestic dispute on Danwood Drive, near Norton Road and Hall Road in west Columbus, around 10:20 p.m. on Friday.
When officers arrived, they heard gunshots coming from a home.
Two girls, 6-year-old Alyse Williams and 9-year-old Ava Williams were found shot inside.
The girls were taken to Doctor’s Hospital where they were pronounced dead early Saturday morning.
Suicide
Police said the girls’ father, 32-year-old Aaron Williams, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Report
Court records reviewed by The Dispatch show Williams a previous domestic violence charge by Columbus police on Sept. 7, 2018, with intent to harm and assault. He pleaded guilty in October 2018 to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct under a plea agreement and was given a three-day suspended sentence.
Osborn said she couldn’t comment on the relationship except to say that Friday’s gruesome news came as a shock.
“They were part of a loving family, and this was very unexpected. From every angle we could tell, their father loved them …,” Osborn said. “I just can’t imagine. I don’t know how he did it. Osborn added I don’t know how he was able to do this to them.”
