Sinead Quinn is a salon owner, who could be fined £27,000 after refusing to close during lockdown and quoting the Magna Carta to justify the rule breach, it has been revealed.
Quinn, who owns Quinn Blakey Hairdressers in Oakenshaw, near Bradford, West Yorks., initially faced a fine of £4,000 for repeated breaches over the weekend.
But council officers visited her shop Monday and yesterday and issued two further £10,000 fines after they found it was still open and trading.

A salon owner who initially faced a fine of £4,000 could now be penalised £27,000 after she has repeatedly refused to obey orders.
Sinead Quinn, of Quinn Blakey Hairdressers in Oakenshaw, near Bradford, has displayed a sign quoting the Magna Carta in her salon window.
Kirklees Council officers visited Quinn Blakey salon in Oakenshaw today and found that the business open and trading.
During earlier visits by authorities she told them she did not ‘consent’ to coronavirus closure laws, reports Examiner Live.

But the West Yorkshire salon owner now faces an an even bigger financial penalty after she opened up the premises three times in defiance of lockdown rules put in place to save lives and stop the spread of the virus.
She is now facing fines totalling £27,000 for repeatedly flouting lockdown regulations.
Kirklees Council spokesman Statement
Today a Kirklees Council spokesman said the salon had opened Saturday, Monday and today.
The said: “The business open and trading again so they have been issued with a further £10,000 fine which means the total is now £27,000.”
The spokesman said the council was “in the process of exploring alternative action” in relation to the salon.
Kirklees Council today condemned the actions of the business owner as “selfish and irresponsible.”
Earlier this month Ms Quinn posted videos on Instagram showing her arguing with council officials who had visited her salon to see if it was complying with the rules.
In one video she told officials that she did not ‘consent’ to being fine and cited ‘common law’.
She had previously posted a sign on the salon door which cited Magna Carta in defence of her decision to keep trading.
Quinn Refuses To Shut The Salon
Ms Quinn declined to comment further after initially telling Yorkshire Live that she wasn’t breaking the law.
According to the latest official data, Kirklees and Bradford have among the highest coronavirus infection rates in England.
Kirklees has the eleventh highest Covid-19 rate with a rate of 446.4 cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to November 19.
Bradford came in twelfth, with a a rate of 439.3 per 100,000 people in the same period.
In an Instagram video post on Sunday, Ms Quinn tells a visiting officer: “I don’t consent.”
